About Osvaldo
Osvaldo Rodriguez is an active performer, educator, and clinician in the Salt Lake Valley area. As an accomplished musician, Osvaldo has been a member of the local music community, performing with such ensembles as the Salt Lake Symphony, Ballet West, Utah Wind Symphony, and Westminster Chamber Orchestra.
Osvaldo Rodriguez began horn studies at a young age in a public school music program in Burbank, California. During his time in southern California, he had the opportunity to perform with several ensembles, including the Los Angeles Valley College Wind Ensemble. Osvaldo went on to receive a music scholarship to Weber State University. There, he participated in the Honors Brass Quintet, Wind Ensemble, and Symphony Orchestra.
Osvaldo completed his undergraduate degree in Instrumental Music Education at the University of Utah School of Music, studying under Stephen Proser and serving as principal horn of the Utah Philharmonia and University Wind Ensemble. In 2020, he completed his Master of Music degree in Horn Performance at the University of Utah.
Additionally, Osvaldo has studied under the tutelage of Edmund Rollett and Llewellyn Humphreys, and participated in masterclasses with Stefan Dohr, Eric Ruske, Nicolas Fleury, Oto Carillo, and Brett Hodge. He has also enjoyed many years of teaching in public school music programs, as well as mentoring members of the Utah Youth Symphony brass section. During his career, he has performed in such concert venues as Maurice Abravanel Hall and Davies Symphony Hall.
